InterVarsity’s church connection

InterVarsity’s missionaries to the college campus, like all missionaries, rely on a base of support that starts at their home church. In addition, our campus staff encourages students to be active in their churches. Our research shows almost two thirds of InterVarsity students do continue to be regularly involved in local churches.

Now InterVarsity is building stronger bonds between the campus and the church, with the introduction of our Church Partnership website. The new website offers a package of resources InterVarsity wants to share with churches out of the expertise we’ve developed in working with college-age men and women.

“We’re asking churches, ‘How can we serve you better?’ because we’re in this thing together,” says InterVarsity Church Relations Director Ridley Underwood. “We also want to say ‘Thank you’ to all of our church partners.”

The new website also serves as a church gateway to urbana.org, with its tremendous diversity of missions-related online resources, as well as to InterVarsity Press with all of its printed works. There are also worship resources—as well as connections soon to a new package of material focusing on the transitional period from high school to college. This new feature will serve high school students and their parents and pastors with information aimed at helping them make those crucial college decisions.

The church is God’s primary way of advancing his kingdom in this world. InterVarsity, through its campus ministries, is dedicated to developing life-long church members and building ministry relationships with churches. Our new website is building on that foundation.
