NLI 24: Student Leaders Receive a Rousing Call to Campus

“The Lord met me face to face and showed me the revival starting in our generation,” said Nina, a student in the Greek InterVarsity chapter at San Diego State University.

Nina is one of 65 InterVarsity student leaders who attended the National Leadership Institute (NLI) in Wheaton, Illinois this past June. Students like her gathered from all over the country to engage in manuscript Bible study, participate in prayer and worship, and workshop with fellow student leaders about being missional on campus.

Living for Jesus — Campuses Renewed

When college students experience pivotal, transformative moments with God, he might not change what they do but always changes how they do it. For Joshua at UCLA, one simple question changed his perspective of his life on campus and future vocation. He realized that his purpose as a believer is to reflect the kingdom of God. InterVarsity chapters develop student leaders who become world-changing alumni. Many of our ministries on campus wouldn’t be possible without these alumni generously giving their resources and time to continue serving  students as volunteer staff — like Dez and Jay-La.

Keeping—and Growing—Faith

Most people worry that college is where students lose their faith. Sadly, many do. But, we’ve also found that college is an ideal place to help students grow their faith and introduce them to Jesus. Every day, through your prayers, volunteer time, and generosity, you’re helping InterVarsity staff and student leaders reach students who might feel lonely or lost. We help show them what it looks like to follow Jesus as an adult and to make their faith their own during the most formative years of their lives. For some, like Matthew, these interactions happen at just the right time.
